Standing vs Sitting on a Vibration Plate — Which is More Effective?

Standing and sitting on a vibration plate deliver meaningfully different results. If you're trying to get the most from every session, understanding when to use each position is important.
Standing (Most Effective for Most Goals)
When you stand on the UMAY VibeCore™, vibration travels through your feet, legs, and up through your entire body. Full-body muscle activation, maximum calorie burn, best for weight loss, toning, and strength. Allows squat holds, calf raises, lunges, resistance band work.
Sitting (Gentler, Targeted)
Sitting on the platform or with feet on the plate while seated on a chair is gentler. Excellent for balance concerns, mobility limitations, seniors, and lower leg/foot circulation. Good for recovery days.
Which is More Effective?
| Goal | Better Position |
|---|---|
| Weight loss and toning | Standing — significantly more effective |
| Lymphatic drainage | Standing — full body stimulation |
| Calorie burn | Standing |
| Lower leg circulation | Either works well |
| Gentle recovery | Either — sitting is softer |
| Mobility limitations | Sitting — safer and more accessible |
| Balance improvement | Standing — constantly challenges stabilisers |
Our Recommendation
For most users, standing delivers significantly better results and should be your primary position. Use sitting variations as a gentler alternative on recovery days or if you have balance concerns.
